05 Floats * Cattle

Cattle take special floats to get the job done properly.  They need a float head that will drop into that big curve of Spee they have, especially on the lower teeth.  It takes a short float head that is off set quite a bit.  You also need a float that will work around their strong tongues; they are always pushing you away from the teeth if they get a chance.

"I like to use a fifteen inch offset float with a short 2" head on the lower cheek teeth of cattle and a 17" float with a 2" head on the uppers with a 15 degree upturned head.  I can get around pretty well and get most of the work done quickly and efficiently with the two floats."  Dale Jeffrey
